Computational Science and Engineering: The School of Engineering and Applied Science will offer a Master of Science in Computational Science and Engineering beginning in the fall of 2009. This degree is intended to meet the need for engineers and scientists who are not only well trained in an engineering or scientific discipline, but also in the computational areas that are needed to support these disciplines.
Computer Science: The Master of Computer Science program is designed for students who have a strong background in computing. Students will study advanced topics in computer science and will engage in research with a faculty member, resulting in a masters thesis. Current research interests of the faculty include artificial intelligence, machine learning, evolutionary computation, information retrieval, operations research, simulation, system security, and software engineering. Graduates of the program will be prepared for further postgraduate study or to enter the computing profession.
Paper & Chemical Engineering: The graduate program offered by the department of Paper & Chemical Engineering is a master's level, thesis program with a strong research focus. It is aimed at science and engineering oriented baccalaureate students and is designed to provide the technical knowledge in paper and chemical engineering for graduates to work in research and technical organizations in the paper and process industries.
Software Development (Certificate): The Certificate in Software Development is offered to graduate students who wish to study modern concepts and skills of software design and development. The program is designed for students who need to develop software to solve problems in their major area of study; for computing professionals who want to update their skills; or for those who desire to prepare for further study in computer science.
